Our Club

The Hong Kong Hobie Club (Fleet 179) was started in the late 1970s by a group of passionate cat sailors in To Tei Wan village on land leased from the Government.

We have sailors at every level, from real pros to enthusiastic beginners. The spirit of the club is relaxed and informal with everyone helping, sharing and pulling together.

The Club organizes a mix of races, training sessions or some social events – with something usually happening every other weekend. The main regattas take place from September to November when the north-east monsoon blows best sailing conditions but racing out of the Club happens year round.

Club members frequently participate in inter-club regattas in HK, some even sign up for overseas regattas held on the Philippines or Thailand! Our club members have won many local and overseas regattas outside of our own club racing.
